Flexible solutions for complex projects..

Pristina International Adem Jashari Airport is located 15km southwest of Pristina, Kosovo. The airport offers flights to many European destinations.

In May 2010, the airport was privatized and taken over by the Limak Kosovo International Airport J.S.C. Consortium, which has a 20-year contract under the Build-Operate-Transfer model. After taking over the control of the airport, the consortium initiated an extensive renovation of the terminal building and then constructed additional facilities. The new terminal building and additional facilities are expected to be operational soon, increasing the airport's passenger capacity from 2 million to 5 million passengers. Currently, the airport is the third busiest airport in the former Yugoslavia after Belgrade and Zagreb Airports.

Challenges

The newly added buildings at the airport are located far away from the main terminal building, which poses a challenge for the wiring of the fire system in the central building. A new fire detection system is required for these buildings. Furthermore, these newly installed systems should be monitored and controlled from the security center located in the main terminal building.

Teknim's Mosaic Graphical Monitoring software and Teknim Intelligent Addressable Fire Alarm equipment proved to be extremely effective in meeting the requirements of the project. End-to-end network flexibility and unlimited user support were key factors in the success.

Solution

Teknim Intelligent Addressable Fire Alarm System has been installed in the Ground Services Building, VIP Building, Rent A Car Building and Cargo Building. Thanks to the Mosaic software installed at the security center in the Terminal Building, all fire alarm panels in these buildings are monitored and controlled from a single center by communicating over the local network.

The monitoring software developed by Teknim enables the personnel in the security center to perform their duties quickly and reliably. It offers many features such as sending automatic pop-ups with a layered map of the area at the time of an alarm, displaying error information on panels, and receiving detector pollution reports.
